I’ve been researching herbs lately and decided to try out a cup of tea from my own garden. I use this tea when I feel anxious (I have suffered from hormonal anxiety for years). It is also good for stomach aches (gas) and it has been helpful to me in the event that I’ve suffered menstrual cramps.*
Catnip-Mint Tea
24 leaves of catnip
24 leaves of mint (I have used spearmint and peppermint)
1 quart water (filtered is best)
Bring water to a boil and remove from heat. Drop catnip and mint leaves into water and allow to steep 10 minutes. Strain and enjoy hot, or store in the fridge and drink cold. It’s great either way.
I am not a doctor and cannot recommend this as treatment for any ailments, but rather only share how I have used it. Please use according to your own discretion, and not until you have researched these herbs for yourself.
Blessings,

I just cram a jar full of as many types of mint as I have on hand, including lemon balm, spearmint, peppermint, chocolate mint and cat nip. Then I cover plus 2 inches with boiling water and let steep for 10-20 minutes. Love it. You can even drink it for pure pleasure without any adverse effects.
That sounds wonderful, Jenny. I don’t have enough mint to cram a jar full yet, but once I do, I’m there! Love this stuff!
I’ve been enjoying fresh dried mint as tea from a friend’s plant she grew this summer.
I just picked my own catnip mint plant today and plan to dry it and
make tea from it. So I was checking out whether the catnip mint
was ok to drink but my cat loves it so I’m going to try it too!
I love the idea of adding spearmint and lemon balm to it. The catnip
mint has some spicy aroma to it so may go fine on its own.
Hi Janis!
You know, I haven’t tried tea with dried leaves, only fresh ones, but I’m sure it will be fine. It better be, because I just dried a pint of leaves for myself and I plan on using it during the winter months to keep me warm!
Catnip is really good for an upset stomach, and so many other things. Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!
I love mint tea
Need to plant some catnip! Thanks for sharing on the HomeAcre Hop
Oh yes, it grows so prolific here! It supplies me with more tea than I can dream of having.
I, too, love herbal teas, but have not tried this combination. It sounds delicious! My personal fave is lemon balm. Have a great day! -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
Ahh yes, lemon balm is yummy too.
