Sunday Benediction 10

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
~2 Corinthians 5:17

A nectarine tree that we were sure wasn’t going to sprout unexpectedly comes to life.

Lately, old memories of who I was in the past have been resurfacing…regretful things I’d done as a teen and young adult…how I used to act…who I used to be. Over the years, the choices I made as a young person have brought me pain and sorrow from time to time.

But God…He is so faithful to remind me that I am like the tree pictured above. Where my heart was broken and barren…devoid of godliness and a desire for God, He brought new life…fresh, new leaves of growth that promised of future fruit.

He is so faithful to grant us new life–a life we don’t deserve–when we receive Christ’s sacrifice as payment for our past, present and future sins. He is faithful to make something lovely and fruitful where this are bare and broken branches. He is so good.

Praise be to His name.
Blessings,

  1. OH, I love how God always keeps His promises towards us, and when He promises to make us new creations in Him, He really does it ;) :) Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather :)
